Law of Azerbaijan Republic "About ecological safety",

The law consists of 13 articles and defines legal bases of ecological safety as component safety of the state, society and population. In the first article of the Law the basic terms and concepts of ecological safety are explained. The purpose of the present law consists in an establishment of legal bases for protection of life and health of the person, society, its material and moral values, environment, including atmospheric air, space , water objects, richment of ground, natural landscape, plants and animals from danger, arising in result influence natural and antropogenic action.
The present law adjusts the attitudes in the field of ecological safety at realization of activity by the legal and physical persons, state by bodies and bodies of local self-management, their officials.
In the law is marked the rights and responsibilities of the state, citizens and public associations in the field of ecological safety. In this connection in 7-th articles is shown that, the citizens and public associations have the right: - to receive when other state bodies and local self-management units are in limits of their powers, information about sources of ecological danger, dangerous by an ecological conditions and realization of measures on their elimination, - to carry out the public control for observance of the requirements on maintenance of ecological safety, -applied to appropriate state bodies and bodies of local self-management, courts at infringement of the requirements of the law in the field of ecological safety.
In 8-th articles is shown, that the information maintenance of activity in the field of ecological safety is carried out by bodies, conducting monitoring of the environment and natural resources.
In the law also following questions are reflected:
- Restriction on economic and other activity with the purposes of maintenance of ecological safety (9)
- Division of territory of the country into zones on a degree of ecological safety (10)
- Elimination of consequences of dangerous ecological situations (11)
- Cases of infringement of the law in the field of ecological safety and responsibility (13).
Unfortunately as against other laws there is not enough international cooperation in the field of ecological safety.
