NATO
Science Program, Advanced Research Workshop, on Radiation
safety problems in the Caspian region, will be held
in Baku, Azerbaijan during September 11-14, 2003
The
objectives of this Advanced Research Workshop are:

Provide
an opportunity of exchanging information and experience
among experts, managers, researchers, lecturers, scientists
in the field of securing of radiation safety of biosphere,
development of international cooperation for determination
and solving of regional radiological problems;

Discuss
subjects connected with the radiation safety problems
in the Caspian region. Attract attention of public to
the existing radiological problems in the region;
-
Work
out by joint efforts rational practical solutions of problems
linked with radiological safety.
The
main topics will be Radiation Environmental Monitoring, Natural
and Artificial Sources of Radioactivity in Caspian Region,
Radiotherapy and Radiodiagnostics, Radiation Safety Problems
in the Oil Industry, Problems of Burial of Radioactive Wastes
in the Caspian Countries, New Methods and Technics of Dosimetry
of Ionizing Radiation, Environmental Impact of Electromagnetic
field, Radar Stations, NGO movement for Radiation safety of
the Caspian region.
The
participation is mainly by invitation. The
deadline for abstract (up to 250 words) submission is March
31, 2003.
Working
language: English (Simultaneous translations into Azeri and
Russian will be provided).
